Keep your options noted

There are many ways to progress, each with their own arc of benefit. It’s easy to fixate on our favourite method, to the point of abuse. In fitness, I would overtrain movements and often injure myself in the process. I’ve learned to diversify my efforts, ensuring success in the long run. I now keep lists for different actions I can use towards priorities. Before one loses impact, I can switch to another.

Ways to improve fitness:

  • Eat whole foods
  • Drink water
  • Strength training
  • Stretch
  • Practice form
  • Sleep/nap
  • Recovery walk
  • Meditate
  • Heat Exposure
  • Cold Exposure
  • Breathing exercises
  • Balancing

Ways to improve writing:

  • Create posts for possible topics
  • Research other perspectives
  • Write skeleton of post content
  • Create and add visual aids
  • Expand writing
  • Read posts aloud
  • Check grammar and punctuation
  • Add links/citations
  • Ask others for feedback
  • Meditate
  • Sleep/nap
